One of two women who was charged with assault after fighting over the removal of a pair of slippers from a home was fined yesterday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

Charged with common assault is Elendor Robinson.

She pleaded guilty to the offence.

"We have been friends for a long time, and they came by the house and took a slippers I bought my daughter and left," Robinson said.

The court heard that the complainant was spotted in downtown Kingston and confronted about the slippers.

"I saw her downtown and ask her why she went away with the slippers. She took out a knife, we started to fight and we end up in the street," Robinson said.

Parish Judge Chester Crooks fined Robinson $2,000 or 15 days in prison.
