The police in Trelawny are seeking the assistance of members of the public in their bid to apprehend Clinton 'Country' Davis, the man they say is the prime suspected in the murder of an elderly female farmer, who was beheaded just over two weeks ago in Clarks Town.

According to Inspector Simeon Hamilton, the acting crime chief for Trelawny, the police believe that the wanted man may have fled the parish after the murder and is hiding out elsewhere in the island.

Davis is believed to have slaughtered 59-year-old Valerie 'Ms P' Thompson, of Panasus district in Clarks Town, who was found nude on her farm with her head completely severed on Thursday, February 15. Investigators believed she was sexually assaulted before she was killed.

"We are now in search of one Clinton Davis, otherwise called 'Country', of a top Trelawny (southern) address in connection with the murder of Valerie Thompson," said Hamilton. "We believe he has fled the parish and could be hiding out in Darliston or Lennox Bigwoods, in Westmoreland.

Hamilton wants anyone with information on the whereabouts of Davis to alert the police immediately as, based on the savagery displayed in Thompson's murder, it would not be wise to have him prowl around free in any community with women.

According to reports from the Clarks Town police, at about 8:30 a.m., Thompson left home to work on her farm, which is located at a section of the community known as Hampshire. When she did not return home that afternoon, her daughters got worried and began calling her cellular phone.

Getting no response, the girls went in search of her but had no success. Another search party, which included male family members, went back to look for Thompson. The body was found partially covered in dry trash with the head severed.
