Stop sharing her video - Relatives of accident victim plead with public
Family members of Junique Chung, the 19-year-old who died in a motor vehicle accident in Manchester yesterday morning, are pleading with the public to cease the circulation of videos that show her exposed body.
“The videos going around show her breasts and pivate parts out and I can’t understand why people would do that .... When I went on the scene before they came to pick up the body, I tried to cover her up as much as possible but people need to be considerate ... . They should have used that time to help her than be recording ...” said her aunt Rochelle Rochester.
Recently baptised
Rochester said she spoke to her niece on Saturday night.
“Her (Chung’s) mother is so shaken up. All she could do this morning (yesterday) was go to church. She (mother) was just recently baptised and I know her church and her faith is the only thing that can get her through this,” said Rochester.
Chung of Fuertado Drive in Mandeville, Manchester, died as a result of injuries she received in a motor vehicle collision on New Green main road.
Reports are that about 2:30 a.m., the driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer motor car travelling towards Mandeville collided with the rear of a Nissan Tiida motor car travelling in the same direction while attempting to overtake the Nissan. As a result of the impact, the driver of the Nissan Tiida allegedly lost control of the motor vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.
Chung, who was a passenger in the Nissan Tiida motor car, was thrown from the vehicle. She sustained several injuries and was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Nissan Tiida and another passenger remain in hospital. The driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer was treated and released. He has been warned for prosecution.
