The Freeport police in Montego Bay, St James, have now commenced a probe into the murder of ISSA western region representative, Raymond ‘Mooney’ Kerr, who was discovered dead at his apartment in Appleton Hall, Montego Bay, St James, yesterday afternoon.

The 53-year-old sportman was also the former manager of the Cornwall College football team and manager of the Aqual Sol Theme Park in Montego Bay.

Reports by the police are that family members say they last spoke to Kerr last Saturday afternoon.

Several attempts were made to contact him since then but they all went unanswered. His relatives got concerned and went to his apartment.

They carried out a search of the premises and discovered Kerr’s body which had multiple stab wounds, and his throat slashed.

One senior officer told The WESTERN STAR that based on investigations, it is believed that Kerr was also robbed.

According to the policeman, Kerr’s vehicle has been reported missing, and it is also believed that the killers might have stolen his licensed firearm.

The lawman further stated that the police are now working with some strong leads, and they expect to make some headway into their investigations as early as today.

Kerr is a popular Montego Bay businessman who also attended Cornwall College.
