Cousins killed in St James crash

Two cousins died in a motor vehicle crash along the Lilliput main road in St James on Saturday. They have been identified as Ronaldo Blake, otherwise called 'Bob' or 'Prezzie', a 17-year-old student of Spot Valley High School, and 24-year-old Damion Buchanan, otherwise called 'Cha-Cha', a sound system selector.

Both are of Bobman Hill in Lilliput, St James.

Kimberly Buchanan, who is an aunt to the men, said they were "very good boys and very popular in the community".

"Damion is a popular selector, and wi don't know how wi gwan cope with him not being around. Him have a one-and-a-half-year-old son who depends on him fi support," Buchanan said.

She said Blake was awaiting his Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate results.

"Him mother drop dung when she hear seh har son dead," she said.

The police report that about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, the cousins were travelling on a motorcycle from Bobman Hill towards the Lilliput main road, when, on reaching the highway, the motorcycle collided with a Toyota Hiace minibus. The cousins were thrown from the motorcycle, while the driver of the minibus lost control of the vehicle which later overturned.
