‘Clarks Booty’ to be sentenced for pair of guns
Reputed Central Village don Fredrick 'Clarks Booty' Braham last Tuesday pleaded guilty to a second illegal possession of firearm charge within two weeks in the Corporate Area Gun Court. He is to be sentenced on both charges in March.
Having spent more than a year in custody after being captured in December 2018 for absconding bail in 2012 on the first gun charge, Braham changed his plea to guilty on Tuesday, January 21, when he appeared before Justice Bertram Morrison.
Being the target
Braham was on the run for six years before being captured on December 14, 2018. He was held with another illegal weapon by the St Catherine South Special Operations Unit after being the target of dozens of operations launched in search of him.
He was charged under multiple identities after giving the investigating officer three different names when he was held with a 9mm pistol inside his shoe in the 'China Town' section of Central Village.
Police sources said Braham, who was represented by attorney Everton Bird, had been sought for almost a decade in relation to a number of shootings and murders committed in 2009.
He was finally held in a pre-dawn raid which had triggered a demonstration by residents of China Town, where it is said he was the ruling don.
