The legal team representing dancehall artiste Dexta Daps say they will now move to have his matter heard before a tribunal.

This after news that the artiste is to remain in police custody for at least another week.

The entertainer's case was mentioned at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court in Half-Way-Tree this morning.

Dexta Daps, given name Louis Grandison has been locked up under the State of Emergency that is in effect in the St Andrew South Police Division since April 8.

In an interview with THE STAR a short while ago, his lawyer Peter Champagnie QC, stated that charges still have not been laid against the deejay and he is working overtime to have his client released as soon as possible.

"Myself and Kemar Robinson, who appears alongside me in the matter, are moving seedily to have the matter heard before a tribunal with a view to have him released. We are hoping that by next week they will be able to accommodate us. He maintains his innocence and he's anxious to have his matter heard before the tribunal."
