JUTC investigating accident that claimed vendor's life

The Jamaica Urban Transport Company Limited (JUTC), has launched an investigation into an accident that resulted in the untimely death of a vendor.

44 year-old vendor Eletia Brown, was fatally hit by a JUTC bus on Port Royal Street in Kingston, on Wednesday afternoon.

The matter is being investigated by the Police and the Internal Accident Investigation Department of the JUTC. 

According to JUTC's corporate communcations manager, the driver has been pulled from active duty pending further investigations.

The management and board of the JUTC has expressed sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Brown on their loss; and hopes there will be a speedy investigation into the very unfortunate accident.
