488 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Jamaica
The Ministry of Health and Wellness has reported ten new positive COVID-19 test results, pushing the tally of confirmed cases to 488.
Among the ten new cases, eight are females, and two are males. Their ages range from four years to 39-years-old. Four persons are contacts of a confirmed case, six persons are under investigation, including three from the workplace cluster in St. Catherine.
There are now 224 confirmed COVID-19 cases related to the St. Catherine workplace cluster.
There are now 447 patients in isolation and 155 persons in quarantine at a Government facility.
Nine persons have died, while one additional patient has recovered, and has been released from hospital, bringing the total number of recoveries to 58.
According to the Health Ministry a total of 421 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, 99 samples were repeat tests for persons of interest and patients in quarantine and isolation, while 322 were new samples.
So far, Jamaica has tested 6,417 samples, 5,887 are negative, 488 are positive and 42 results are pending.
