Arizona shop's 266 milkshake flavours earn Guinness world record

An Arizona ice cream shop earned a Guinness World Record by offering 266 milkshake flavors - and making them all in just over an hour.

Snow Cap, an ice cream shop in Seligman, attempted the Guinness World Record for most milkshake flavors on display and the event was timed to coincide with a visit from motor oil company Mobil 1, as part of its Keep Route 66 tour.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator was on hand as the shop's owners, the Delgadillo family, made every milkshake on the menu in about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The unusual flavours prepared by the shop include peanut butter and onion ring; banana and chili; and orange and fish burger.

$1-m lottery ticket nearly ended up in the trash

A Missouri woman who won a $1-million prize from a scratch-off lottery ticket said her winning ticket nearly ended up in the trash.

The St Louis County woman told Missouri Lottery officials she bought a $50 Millionaire Blowout scratch-off ticket from the 7-Eleven store on Lemay Ferry Road in St Louis and didn't think it was a winner when she scratched it off.

She said the ticket remained in a pile of non-winning tickets in her car for two days before she decided to double-check the losing tickets using a gas station's lottery scanner.

"I stopped at the gas station to check my ticket, just to make sure I wasn't throwing away any winners," she said. "I scanned the ticket, and it said I won $1 million, visit the lottery office."

Bear crashes birthday party, eats cupcakes

A bear crashed a 2-year-old's birthday party in Connecticut and was filmed feasting on cupcakes while the partygoers fled inside.

Rauf and Laura Majidian said they were hosting a birthday party for their son, Cyrus, outside their West Hartford home when a bear emerged from the woods.

The parents and the other adults rushed to get the kids inside, but the bruin was more interested in the contents of the picnic table, the Majidians said.

The bear was filmed feasting on cupcakes from the picnic table while the party attendees watched through a window.
