Chef charged in connection to man’s murder

A chef has been charged in the killing of a man last November on James Street in Kingston.

Javaughn Brown, 23, of Text Lane, Kingston, was charged for use of prohibited weapon to commit murder and possession of prohibited weapon and ammunition. The deceased has been identified as Daniel Smith. Reports are that on November 3, Smith was among a group of people standing on the roadway, when Brown, who was armed with a handgun, shot him multiple times. The injured man was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. On Tuesday, Brown was arrested and charged after being questioned in the presence of his attorney. His court date is being finalised.
