Dancehall entertainer Khago may lose his gun permit licence after allegedly pulling his firearm on a relative at his home in Knockpatrick, Manchester, last Friday.

The incident was confirmed by the police's Corporate Communications Unit, who also said that the Nah Sell Out deejay was charged with assault at common law, following a report made to the Mandeville police.

It is reported that Khago, given name Ricardo Gayle, pointed the weapon at the relative before threatening her after the pair got into a verbal exchange.

The relative reportedly ran out of the house and was assisted by one of Khago's entourage to the police station.

The relative told THE STAR that the incident has left her traumatised.

"Mi trouble with both depression and anxiety so this situation only make things worse for me. It was a really bad thing to go through, mi a tell yuh, because mi get so scared when him point the gun at me. Mi tun fool and no know wah fi do. Him say to me, 'Hey gal, yuh better come out a mi house right now, enuh', and as soon as him lower him hand wid di gun mi dash out of the room and run go round weh him fren dem deh inside the studio," she shared.

The dispute, according to the relative, stemmed from a situation she was trying to explain to Khago that involved his girlfriend.

"He was saying earlier that the dust had sickened his child and I was explaining to him that the young lady was walking in the house with her slippers from the outside and that could contribute to it. Same time him jump up and start say, 'yuh know mi no need yuh fi tell mi how fi run mi house. Yuh have people here weh bring mi happiness and yuh nah go come tek dat from me'," she recounted.

"I turned to him and said that him must learn fi listen and that is when him start gwaan and class mi di most way," the relative said.

A court date has not yet been finalised for Khago.

The Firearm Licensing Authority's (FLA) Corporate and Client Relations director, Beverly Robinson, said that the veteran deejay could have his licence revoked.

"We are coordinating with the police in Mandeville to wrap up our investigations in very short order and submit a report to the board for a final decision on the future of his licence," Robinson said.

She also noted that it was the second time that the FLA was receiving a report on the artiste, following a similar incident with another female relative more than five years ago.

In that incident, Khago reportedly pulled his weapon after the relative allegedly told him that his father would not be pleased with him cutting his dreadlocks and bleaching his skin.

"That file was still open at the time we received this new report. If the FLA finds that the reports are credible, and I would want to make a distinction here, whether the court finds the person guilty or not, it does not mean that the FLA will not remove licences. If we believe that the person has the propensity based on the actions of the individual, we will remove the firearm from the individual before an actual incident takes place," Robinson disclosed.

THE STAR contacted Khago, but the deejay abruptly ended the phone call when asked for a comment.
