Suspended firefighter takes fight to new heights
Leo Bennett, the Jamaican Fire Brigade (JFB) sergeant who staged a one-man protest last year May and was suspended, was seen this morning on top of the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre in St Andrew once again advocating for the rights of firefighters.
In a notice to staff during his first protest last year, the brigade said Bennett's demonstration in the vicinity of the headquarters breached the organisation's regulations.
It is unclear how today's protest will affect the sergeant, but the STAR understands his suspension trial is tomorrow.
A JFB bucket truck had to be called in to help him down.
More details soon.
