Almost 4 pounds of cocaine seized at Sangster Airport
Cops assigned to the Narcotics Division in St James have taken into custody a British resident after she was found with almost four pounds of cocaine at the Sangster’s International Airport in Montego Bay St. James.
It is reported that on Monday, February 26, operatives were conducting operations at the airport about 3:00 p.m. when a female was accosted. She was in the process of checking on a flight to London, England.
After a preliminary interview, the police became suspicious and carried out a search of her luggage, which revealed 1.6kgs (3.5 ponds) of cocaine concealed in Jamaican craft items.
The estimated street value of the Cocaine in the UK is £38, 000.00. She was subsequently arrested and placed on reasonable suspicion for breaches of the dangerous drugs act.
However, her name has been withheld pending further investigations.
