12-y-o boy charged with allegedly stealing $150,000 in alleged house-breaking

A 12-year-old boy from Spanish Town, St Catherine is to appear in the Children Court on April 3 on charges of allegedly stealing $150,000 and electronic devices during a house-breaking in his community last month.

The St Catherine North police is charging the minor with house breaking and larceny and malicious destruction of property.

The Spanish Town police report that between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. between Wednesday, March, 26 and Monday, March 31, a man securely locked up his house and left.

A few days later he received information that his house was broken into.

When he returned home he reportedly discovered that his properties were stolen which include $150,000, a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 cellular phone, a Verizon 6 inch tablet, a black Samsung 9 inch tablet, a black Imperial microwave and a PlayStation game console, while some items were burnt at his door way.

The minor was caught and handed over to the police.

He was taken into custody where he was formerly charged.
