York Avenue gang member charged with murder
A known member of the York Avenue gang, according to the St Andrew South police, has been charged for their alleged connection to a murder committed on Modyford Road, Kingston 11, on October 16, 2024.
He is 31-year-old Nicola Reid, otherwise called 'Yankie', of Barton Road in Westchester, Portmore, St Catherine.
Cops say he is also believed to have operated as a contract killer within the Kingston Metropolitan Region and across Jamaica.
Reid was arrested during a targeted police operation, which the police say followed intense investigations and the gathering of critical evidence.
He was interviewed in the presence of his attorney and subsequently charged with murder and multiple firearm-related offences.
The police say this is in addition to other gun related charges that he is already facing with other matters under investigation.
The St Andrew South Police are urging anyone with information that could assist in this or other investigations involving Reid to come forward.
They are also seeking to assure the public that all tips will be treated with the strictest confidence.
