Trinidad and Tobago rocked by two earthquakes
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC -Trinidad and Tobago was rocked by two earthquakes during a 12 hour period, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The Seismic Research centre (SRC) of the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies, Monday reported that the stronger of the two tremors occurred at 8.41 pm on Sunday night when a 5.5 quake hit the country.
The SRC said that it was located at Latitude: 10.96N, Longitude: 62.23W at a depth of 31 kiometers.
It was felt 86 km north west of the capital, Port of Spain, 111 km west north west of Arima, and 115 km east north east of Carupano in Venezuela.
The SRC said that the other quake occurred at 10:08 pm on Sunday night and had a magnitude of 3.8.
It said that it was located Latitude: 10.97N, Longitude: 62.20W at a depth of 28 km. It was felt 84 km north west of Port of Spain, and 108 km, north west of Arima and 114 km north west of San Fernando, west of the capital.
