Lifeguard dies in bicycle crash in St Ann

Kemar Salmon, 38, life guard of Mile End, Ocho Rios in St Ann, died as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle collision on Sunday.

Reports from the Ocho Rios Traffic Department are that about 11:15 a.m., Salmon was riding his bicycle heading towards Lodge main road from his community.

He allegedly failed to stay in his lane and collided into a red Honda motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.

Both men were thrown from their vehicles.

The police were alerted and on their arrival, the men were assisted to hospital.

Salmon was pronounced dead on arrival.

The investigation is ongoing.
