Duhaney Park taxi driver busted with illegal weapons - JCF
A taxi man is in custody following the seizure of f six firearms and ten 9-millimetre rounds of ammunition found in his vehicle following an operation in sections of Kingston 20 on Friday.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force reports that about 7:14 p.m., investigators intercepted a motor car and a search revealed the prohibited weapons, ammunition, and six magazines.
The driver, from Duhaney Park, was subsequently arrested.
His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
This seizure brings the total number of prohibited weapons seized by Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division, within the past three weeks, to 276.
The public is reminded to share information with the police on illegal weapons by calling FNID at 876-923-6184, the National Intelligence Bureau at 811, Crime Stop at 311 or the nearest police station.
