Wykeham McNeill eyeing victory in Trelawny Northern
People's National Party (PNP) candidate for Trelawny Northern Dr Wykeham McNeill has his eyes on victory in the seat.
McNeill lost his seat in Westmoreland Western in the 2020 election, losing to political neophyte Morland Wilson of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
Wilson received 6,148 votes while McNeill, then a PNP vice-president, polled 5,095 votes.
Speaking today following his nomination for the September 3 polls, McNeill said he responded to his party's request and made a decision to seek to represent Trelawny Northern.
"I saw a need and have walked the hills and valleys connecting with people," said McNeil.
He said, if elected, he plans to establish linkages so that farmers can benefit more from tourism and work towards solving the water problems in the constituency.
