Woman charged after being found with Constant Spring fugitive
The police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old St Catherine woman after she was allegedly found in the company of one of the nine men who recently broke out of the Constant Spring police lock-up.
The accused, Shamara Holmes, an unemployed resident of St John's Road, Spanish Town, has been charged with harbouring a fugitive.
Her arrest follows the capture of 23-year-old Talik Chambers, of Burlington Avenue, Kingston 10, who was recaptured on Wednesday during a police operation in Waterloo Gardens, St Catherine.
Chambers, who was being held on a charge of identity theft, was among the nine men who cut their way out of the lock-up on August 18. His re-arrest leaves police efforts focused on strengthening investigations surrounding those who may have helped the escapees.
Meanwhile, the police are again warning members of the public that harbouring a fugitive is a criminal offence and are urging citizens to share any information that may assist in ongoing investigations.
Holmes is scheduled to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on a date to be finalised.
