NASSAU, Bahamas, CMC - A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the deaths of two men and the injury of five others during a mass shooting in New Providence last month. He will return to court on December 10.

The teenager appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on Monday, facing two counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder stemming from the August 9 shooting. The incident claimed the lives of Eden Louis and Markentash Saintil, and left Hayden Breus, Trish Louis, Widny Saintil, Karib Rodgers, and Gregory Jean-Charles nursing gunshot wounds.

Police reported that the victims had been standing outside a home when two gunmen emerged from a vehicle and opened fire.

The accused, who was not required to enter a plea, has been remanded into custody until December, when a voluntary bill of indictment will be presented.
