Police probe fatal mob attack in St Ann

An unidentified man was chopped to death by an alleged mob in Hermitage, St Ann, early this morning.

Reports reaching The Star are that around 12:10 a.m., the man was pounced upon and attacked by a group of angry people under unclear circumstances. When the assault ended, he was left suffering from multiple chop wounds.

The St Ann's Bay Criminal Investigation Branch has since launched a probe into the killing, as detectives work to determine the man's identity and what led to the deadly encounter.

Up to November 22, the St Ann Police Division had recorded 54 murders for the year.
