Brown, Blagrove win Sigma run

Of the thousands who participated in the 18th staging of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run, 30-year-old Kirk Brown clocked the fastest time of 17:15 in the male run while Karlene Blagrove won the female category.

In the male run, second- place Shawn Pitter crossed the line in a time of 17 minutes and 41 seconds, while Kemar Leslie came in third in a time of 18 minutes and 26 seconds.

Blagrove crossed the mat with a time of 23: 05. Jozanne Harris followed her with 23 minutes and 23 seconds, while Janetta Robinson was in third and clocked 24 minutes and 22 seconds.

Alfred Francis, race director was pleased with the professionalism of the runners, but warn against comparing this year's times to previous years.

In other categories, Jason Whynntook top honours in the male Open Walk category, while Olivia McKoy secured the female Open Walk crown.

Alphanso Cunningham secured the Male Wheelchair title, while the female Wheelchair race was won by Sylvia Grant.

The Under-16 Male and Female titles went to Javono Nicholson and Melissa Hart, respectively - both 15 years of age.

In the Corporate Run category, Wilfred Wilson of the Urban Development Corporation, and Gianna Anderson of the University of the West Indies came out on top in the male and female, respectively.
