Schoolgirl netball history will be created at G.C. Foster College indoor court today with the semi-finals of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association Urban and Rural competitions.

The rural teams begin at 9:30 a.m. with Holmwood Technical taking on Manchester High before defending champions, Denbigh, take on their semi-finalist St Thomas Technical in junior action.

Denbigh are favoured to get the better of their opponent after their big 32-8 quarter-final win over Montego Bay High last Wednesday.

It should be very close in the Holmwood/Manchester High encounter as Manchester stopped Dinthill Technical 29-20.

Many-time champions, Holmwood will be seeking another final berth in a senior final when they tackle Manchester High at 11:30 a.m.

Denbigh will start as the big favourites to advance when they battle Knox at 12:30 p.m.

Denbigh were easy 52-10 winners over Herbert Morrison Technical, while it was a close 31-27 victory for Knox over Anchovy High.

Meanwhile, defending urban junior champions Gaynstead will face Norman Manley in the first semi-final at 1:30 p.m., while The Queen's School goes against Camperdown in the other.

Defending senior champions, Camperdown and Excelsior, which suffered their first defeat this season against Queen's, will meet in a high-powered senior semi-final at 3:30 p.m.

Former champions Queen's and Gaynstead will close the day's proceedings when they meet in the second semi-final at 4:30 p.m.
