While it was only held for the first time last year, the McKenley-Wint Track and Field Classic was well organised and one of the best of 2016.

This year, organisers are hoping for another great day and are on target to for an even better event tomorrow.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Andrea Hardware, told STAR Sports that they are pulling out all the stops to ensure success.

"Because it is not only a meet, but we want to ensure that anything that has to do with the legacy of (Herb) McKenley and (Arthur) Wint will be of the highest quality," said Hardware.

Hardware was concerned last year about the accommodation of the athletes and fans, have put things in place to ensure that all are happy on Saturday.

A year ago, more than 62 teams entered the meet. Hardware expected that number to be even higher despite there being only two entire sup to Monday last.

The Boys' Class Two 400 metres hurdles which more than likely will be a new event at the ISSA Boys and Girls' Championships this year, will be the first running event of the meet at 8:30 a.m.

Also included in this year's schedule for high schools will be the Boy's Open Pole Vault.
