Team Scamma score big in Nutramix Domino third regional event
The second time proved to be the winning charm for Team Scamma which emerged victorious at the third regional round of the Nutramix Double Six Domino Tournament last Saturday at Rudolph Elder Park in Morant Bay, St. Thomas.A week earlier, Team Scamma which comprises Michael James and Jeneard Williamson failed in their bid at the second regional in Kingston.
"I am feeling elated. We went to the Kingston round and didn't win and we decided to try again. I am so elated," James said.
Williamson who uses a wheelchair to make his way around daily, was just as ecstatic about winning.
"We introduced the competition to some of our friends and we all decided to go to St. Thomas. It was the team that really motivated us. I am feeling extraordinary," he said.
Finishing in second place was Team Market Road which comprised of Junior McDonald and Robert Lancaster, both residents of St Thomas.
Team Scamma won a cash prize of $50,000, 100 baby chicks and 20 bags of animal feed courtesy of Nutramix while Team Market Road won 50 baby chicks and 10 bags of animal feed.
Winners at this regional, James (a poultry farmer for the past few years) and Williamson, are from Spanish Town and Kingston respectively.
The fourth regional round in the Nutramix Double Six Domino Tournament is scheduled to take place today at the St. Elizabeth Technical High School in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth.
