After five years in the United States, national midfielder Junior Flemmings could have the opportunity to test himself in Europe next year.

Flemmings, 25, has reportedly reached an agreement with French second division club Toulouse FC, and is expected to join the club next month when the winter transfer window opens, according to a report by Footmercato.net. Flemmings, who has been a part of the Reggae Boyz World Cup qualifying campaign so far, indicated last month his intention to leave United Soccer League (USL) Championship side Birmingham Legion after one season.

Should the deal be finalised, Flemmings will add attacking power to a Toulouse team that is currently second in the Ligue Two table with 34 points and is chasing promotion to the top flight.

Flemmings has spent the greater part of his career so far in the United States since joining New York Red Bulls Two from Tivoli Gardens in 2016, and has played in the lower tiers in the US with clubs such as the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Phoenix Rising. Flemmings joined the Birmingham Legion this January after not re-signing with Phoenix at the end of the 2020 season.

This season, he has scored six goals and registered three assists in 21 appearances for the Legion, in a campaign which saw the team progress to the USL championships playoffs. However, he was on unable for their run as he was away for the November qualifiers against El Salvador and the United States, respectively. The Legion were eliminated from the playoffs on November 14, losing their quarter-final match against his old club and eventual USL championship finalists, the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
