Montego Bay United unveils new technical director today
Montego Bay United (MBU) Football Club will unveil former England international, Ricky Hill, as its technical director in a press conference at Wespow Park at 1 p.m. today.
Hill, who was rumoured in November to be taking over the national senior men's team from Theodore Whitmore, was born in England but is of Jamaican heritage.
He has a Jamaican mother, from Montego Bay, and Indian father, and is understood to have scouted a number of United Kingdom-based players for the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).
The JFF was to employ Hill in March 2020 to oversee the development of players between the ages of 15-17, but it did not materialise because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hill played for Luton Town, and Leicester City in England, Le Havre in France, and Tampa Bay Rowdies in Florida, USA. He also has three caps for England between 1982-86.
The 62-year-old has also managed Luton, the Rowdies, and San Juan Jabloteh in Trinidad and Tobago.
