Ballaz pick World Cup finalists
The World Cup in Qatar is at the semifinals stage with Argentina battling Croatia today at 2 p.m. (Jamaica time) before defending champions France tackle Morocco at the same time tomorrow.
Jamaica's outfit, Ballaz International Football Academy, left the island yesterday to travel to Florida, United States of America (USA), to participate in the Springs Holiday Cup tournament. Ballaz will have four different age groups - under-9, under-10, under-11 and under-12 - in the event, which starts on Friday and ends on Monday.
STAR Sports' Daniel Wheeler was at the Norman Manley International Airport yesterday and asked Ballaz members: Who do you think have the best chance of playing in the World Cup final on Sunday?
DONTE SPENCE
Argentina. If it goes to penalties we can do extremely well thanks to goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The front three is perfect because you have Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Julian Alvarez.
JACOB SMITH
Argentina is going to win because their team is very well-rounded. They have a very good attack with Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez. Their midfield is very talented and they play counter-attacking football, which is very good in the World Cup.
RENARDO McCALLA
France, because they have a very good team. They have Kylian Mbappe. Sadly Karim Benzema and Paul Pogba were injured but they have a team good enough to win.
KRISHMARI DAWKINS
I think Argentina will win because when they play a match they always push through no matter what. I think they will meet Morocco in the final and win.
ELLIOTT SCOTT
I think Morocco because they have been very good in the World Cup. They want to make history to be the first African team in the final and they are doing it on behalf of the whole continent. They know how to pass the ball well and know how to defend and attack.
ZACHARY HUNTER
I said Portugal at first but I think it's Morocco because they are very good and a team that can beat Portugal is obviously very good.
