LONDON (CMC):

Prolific Jamaica striker Jonson Clarke-Harris bagged his 21st goal of the season, and Peterborough United beat Shrewsbury Town 2-1 in England's League 1 on Tuesday.

Also, St Kitts & Nevis winger Omari Sterling-James scored his first goal for sixth-tier National League South runaway leaders Ebbsfleet United in a 7-2 rout against Worthing.

A red card for Grenada goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook on the stroke of halftime proved costly when ninth-placed Bromley lost 3-0 at home to York City in the fifth-tier National League.

Peterborough - nicknamed Posh - struck late through Frankie Kent to claim all three points at London Road.

The centre back headed home his second goal of the season in the 87th minute after substitute Kabongo Tshimanga helped a Joe Ward free-kick into his path.

Both teams sit on the fringes of the League 1 play-off race and traded goals in five first-half minutes.

Clarke-Harris, 28, the division's leading scorer, headed his 19th league goal of the league season - his other two came in the Football League Trophy - after being picked out by a 16th-minute cross from Ward to give Posh the edge.

But the advantage proved to be shortlived as Shrewsbury hit back through Tom Flanagan, with the defender's first goal of the campaign worth the wait, as he rifled in off the underside of the bar after Reggae Boyz target Chey Dunkley headed captain Luke Leahy's 21st-minute free-kick back into his path.

Ephron Mason-Clark saw a 64th-minute strike for Posh ruled out for an off-side call on Clarke-Harris, but Darren Ferguson's men eventually edged back ahead through Kent to claim the points.
