Aretha Franklin's ex-husband says the late star was "strong until the very end". Glynn Turman, who was married to Aretha, 76, from 1978 to 1984, visited the star at her Detroit home with Stevie Wonder on Tuesday, two days before she passed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer, and he praised her resilience.

Speaking to ITV's Good Morning Britain, Turman, 71, said: "We were just both on the plane to pay our respect, both trying to hold on to the hope that everything would be all right. [When I got there] someone said, 'Aretha, Glynn is here.' And she perked up a bit there, opened her eyes and we were able to make contact, and then I could see from the look in her eyes she knew I was there."

Turman also praised his former wife for her ability to make him laugh with her large "repertoire of jokes".

"She could make a situation funny ... it would crack you up. She was full of life, a very curious woman, she wanted to try things," he said.

Britney Spears has been ordered to pay her ex-husband Kevin Federline US$110,000.

The Toxic singer has been in dispute with the dancer for several months. He wants the amount of child support she pays for their two sons, Sean Preston, 12, and 11-year-old Jayden, increased from $20,000 a month. Now she has been told to pay $100,000 in "costs and fees", and an additional $10,000 to Benchmark Resolution Group.

Federline and his lawyers have previously complained they have not been provided with any of the financial documents they have requested from the 36-year-old pop star, and they have now warned Spears that she risks having to pay out more money if she and the conservators of her estate continue to withhold information.

Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told E! News "This was an initial contributive payment. If Britney and the conservators continue to fight tooth and nail about turning over any financial information, this will not be the last fee order they're ordered to pay me on Kevin's behalf."

Nicki Minaj used to write raps about her customers when she was a waitress.

The 35-year-old rapper, who has just released her latest album Queen, said she always knew she would become a "superstar" and she used her restaurant customers as inspiration for her music.

Speaking to Vogue Arabia, she said: "In the restaurant where I was a waitress, I would go to someone's table to take the orders and before I got their bread, I'd write raps on my order notepad about what they said or what they were wearing ... I always thought, I'm going to get the hell out of this joint, stop waitressing, and become a big superstar."

And Minaj also admitted that she is quite sensitive and gets extremely upset people spread lies about her.

She said: "I think anybody who says they don't care about horrible things being said about them or lies being spread about them are not being truthful. I'm a human being and of course it bothers me when I read lies or horrendous things about myself."
