Dancehall Pastor has eyes on Spice - Says he wants to sing about temptation
Sexily clad females have been tempting Pastor Stephen Blake, self-proclaimed 'Dancehall Pastor', as he goes about the business of providing entertainment and ministry to persons.
Blake said that he has had to ask God for guidance to overcome the temptations. At the same time, the pastor said that he has friends who often help keep him in check.
"It is like school. I am graduating from primary level to secondary level, and I think I am just getting by, passing the test at 60 per cent. I am human. There are still temptations, but after six months of this, I am able to see the red flags that warn that I will hurt my life and reputation," he said.
In addition to dealing with females attempting to form friendships, Blake said that there are many persons who have sought to have him partake in the casual drinking of alcoholic beverages.
Still, the Praise The Saviour singing minister wants to collaborate on a song with Spice, one of the raunchiest persons in the business.
"Several years ago, I heard Spice was interested to do a gospel song, but up to now, I have not heard [any] with her. I would love if the Temptation collaboration could be with her, Sister Grace Hamilton. It is not a call for attention ... I want Spice to see that ... why not reach to the top?" Blake said.
"She would bring the fire," he said of the raunchy Cool It singer who, in Ramping Shop, begged Vybz Kartel to "spin me like a satellite dish".
"I believe her sharing the message would speak to both male and female listeners of the music because she is powerful, the epitome of strong women in dancehall. If she on it, people will understand the level of temptation," he said.
Blake was recently baptised at Boasy Tuesdayz by selector Boom Boom and ordained as the official 'Pastor of the Dancehall'. He said that contrary to what some people believe, the temptation is not always inside the dancehall but is often lurking on the outside, after the party.
"People show respect, so no man going stand there and mek girl dance pon me or do nutn outrageous inside the party, but I open myself up to people under the guise of seeking advice, and some are very attractive women. It is good to talk about temptation if I am a pastor. I can't be afraid of temptation. It only means I'm going to have to deal with it," he said.
Blake has been making it a habit to attend secular events, arguing that the entertainment industry is filled with uncertainty, so he has to reach out to "be some sort of light".
