NotNice delivers star-studded, uplifting track
Imagine some of your favourite artistes on one song, offering up messages of encouragement and upliftment. Well, that is the concept behind the latest track from Billboard-charting producer NotNice.
Dubbed We Are, the song features vocals from Romain Virgo, Jah Cure, Tarrus Riley, Tessanne Chin, Etana, Jesse Royal, Sanchez, Julian Marley, Richie Spice, Richie Stephens, Maxi Priest, Wayne Marshall, Khalia and NotNice's artiste, Nordia Mothersille.
Although the track was inspired by the crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, NotNice said the song is not a 'coronavirus song'.
"It's a track to uplift the people and give them some hope inna these times. Me want it to come across as a song that can play in most situations when people a go through hard times; whether it's a disaster or anything else," he said. "It has a We Are The World kind of vibe, and that's why me try get some selected people on it. Not just anybody, but some great vocalists that will give you that feel-good vibe when you listen."
NotNice said it was easy to get the artistes on board.
"Everybody who is on the track was excited to be on it. Most people I sent it to were ready to sing because they are all for the message in the song. I want it to be one of those timeless songs, like Bob Marley's One Love. I want whenever people listen to the song, dem know that whatever they're going through, there is always hope," he said. "And once yuh have so many artistes on a track, it's always a good look, and with the message the song is sending, you know it will probably connect more with the people coming from some of their favourite artistes."
Although the song has not yet been officially released, NotNice said it has already been getting some airplay.
A music video is to accompany the song on Friday, and NotNice revealed that all proceeds will be handed over to a charity of his choosing.
