Clarendon security guard killed while on duty

A security guard was shot and killed while on duty at the New Yarmouth Sugar Factory in Clarendon early yesterday morning.
According to the police, about 12:15 a.m. Gladstone Blackstock was on duty at the front gate of the factory when he approached two men on a motorcycle to find out their reason for being at the plant at that time.
It is said that the pillion then pulled a handgun and fired several shots at Blackstock, hitting him.
The 26-year-old security guard was later pronounced dead at hospital.
No motive has been established for the murder.
The police are investigating.
