Guns and ammunition seized in St James

The police removed three firearms along with 224 rounds of ammunition from the nation's streets yesterday.

Reports are that at about 11:30 a.m., a special operation was carried out on Gordon Crescent in Granville, St James, where an unoccupied house was searched.

They searched the eaves of the roof and a Smith and Wesson .40 pistol, along with 63 .40 cartridges, a Smith and Wesson 9 mm pistol, along with 68 9mm cartridges, 64 5.56 cartridges and two magazines were found in a lunch bag.

Minutes later, a Ruger 9mm pistol, along with 29 9mm rounds of ammunition was found at the perimeter fence.

No one was arrested in connection to the seizure.

Investigations continue.
