Student stabbed in domestic dispute

Investigators in Trelawny have established that a domestic dispute was the root cause which lead to the stabbing death of a male high school student at a wake in the parish on Sunday.

Information reaching our news team is that one man, the main suspect, has been taken into custody in relation to the death of 18-year-old Marcus Garvey High student, Raheem Allen, of Calabar, Rio Bueno, Trelawny.

Reports are that at about 1:30 a.m., an argument developed between Allen and a group of men at a shop in the community, while the wake was in progress.

Our news team understands that a knife was used to stab Allen repeatedly.

He was rushed to the Falmouth Hospital where death was confirmed upon arrival.

Head of the Trelawny Police Division, Superintendent Dwight Powell, confirmed the incident and what triggered the fatal altercation.

He said: "It was caused by a domestic dispute, the deceased and the accused are not relatives but people who knew each other well."

The Rio Bueno police are investigating.
