$1B to support pension for farmers, fishers - Green

A Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) government will invest $1 billion to introduce Jamaica's first pension programme for farmers and fishers.

That's the word from Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Floyd Green, who was addressing a JLP mass rally in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew on Sunday.

"So farmers and fishers can cock up dem foot and enjoy prosperity," Green said.

He said it follows earlier moves to give them access to health, life, and crop insurance.
