TikToker 'Mother Love' to be sentenced for threatening to 'murder people' for his political party

A popular Tiktoker who goes by the alias 'Mother Love' has been found guilty and is awaiting sentencing following a controversial post he made to social media inciting violence if his preferred candidate lost in the general election.

Forty-year-old Giovannie Skeen, a vendor from Marlborough district, Balaclava, St Elizabeth, was found guilty of the use of audiovisual communication to promote violence.

The Black River police report that about 2:00 p.m. on August 18, Skeen posted the threatening video to his Tiktok, where he reportedly stated, "If we no win, we ago turn the world inna Haiti, pure big matic and rifle," and "Me wi murder people fi me party."

Skeen was apprehended by law enforcement on Wednesday, August 20, during a targeted operation in his community. He was subsequently charged following a caution statement and a question-and-answer session.

He appeared before the Santa Cruz Parish Court on Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty.

He is scheduled to return to court on Tuesday, September 23, for sentencing.
