Windscreen wiper allegedly swipes woman’s cash
A man who police say is a windscreen wiper has been charging after reportedly confessing to stealing money from a woman's car.
Detectives assigned to the St Andrew South Police Division have charged 45-year-old Conroy Grant, otherwise called 'Snack' of Delacree Lane, Kingston 11, with simple larceny following an incident on Waltham Park, Kingston 13, on August 25. Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that at 6:45 a.m., a woman parked her motor vehicle, with a bag containing $230,000 inside, at a business establishment. Upon her return to her vehicle, she realised that the money was missing. A review of video footage confirmed that Grant took the money from the bag.
A report was made, and Grant was taken into custody following an investigation into the incident. He was charged after he confessed to committing the act, and a caution statement was recorded in the presence of his attorney. He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, October 14.
