South Central Confed Junior Football round-up

With two rounds to be completed in the 2018 Juici Patties-sponsored South Central Confederation Junior leagues, new champions could be crowned in the Under-15 category, while there is a keen battle in the Under-13 division.

Clarendon lead the Under-15 charge with nine points. Manchester and St Catherine are locked on seven points, while St Elizabeth, who have remained winless, are already out of contention.

In the Under-13 competition, St Catherine lead with 10 points, followed by Manchester on seven and Clarendon on five.

In the fourth round on Wednesday, Manchester produced a 2-0 win against Clarendon at Brooks Park, a result which stalled the latter's hold on the title. The victory was set up by first-half strikes from Raheem Walters and Lamonth Rochester.

Porus Under-15 kicks off tomorrow

Manchester's longest running youth football tournament, the Western Union-sponsored Porus Under-15, will kick off tomorrow at the Porus Community Centre.

As usual there will be a dress parade of all the competing teams at 2 p.m. for which a cash prize will be presented. There will be just one match on the day. At 3 p.m. defending champions Connection will face Sporting.

On Monday, Los Perfectos play Villa and on Wednesday the champions are again in action against Villa. The final match for the week sees Sporting against Settlement on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Generation unbeaten in Top Notch Summer League

Generation United made it three from three to maintain the early lead in the Top Notch Summer Football League in Manchester. In their latest victory, they dismantled the previously unbeaten Galaxy FC 4-0.

In the other games Fresh Start United went down 2-1 to Madrid United, and Central defeated Contrivance 3-1.

The competition continues tomorrow at the Sunset field in Knockpatrick starting at 11 a.m.

Sunday's games: Central United vs Knockpatrick United; Galaxy FC vs United Hearts; Madrid United vs United All-Stars and All-Stars Strikers vs Fresh Start United.

Starz win Manchester U-15

Starz Academy easily won the 2018 Manchester Football Association's Under-15 League with a 4-0 shut out of Comfort in the final last weekend.

The final at Brooks Park was the Gary Cousins show as he stole the spotlight with a hat-trick after his teammate Akeem Shuriah had scored in the 10th minute.

In fact Cousin's hat-trick was completed before half- time. He was on target in the the 26th, 33rd and 35th minutes.

Clarendon Juici Patties Netball round up

Cavaliers extended their good run in the Juici Patties-sponsored Clarendon Senior Netball League with a 56-30 win over Denbigh A, last weekend. The result followed their 50-44 win over defending champions Jamalco the previous week.

In the Junior Netball League, Port Land Cottage continue to be the form team. They outscored May Day A 27-22 and showed little mercy against Central High as they won 48-9.

In another game, May Day got the better of Toll Gate 16-7. Their B team also won, as they defeated Denbigh High B 31-7.

The competition continues tomorrow at the Mineral Heights Roundabout Sports Complex starting 1:30 p.m.
