West Indies Women arrive in Derby yesterday for their T20 tour against England.

West Indies Women interim head coach Andre Coley says the team is in good spirits and ready to hit the park after the squad arrived in Derby on Monday ahead of their T20 series against host England.

The West Indies Women will play five T20 Internationals (T20I) against England Women from September 21-30, at the Incora County Ground, Derby.

Coley and the rest of the 18-member squad and management staff were taken straight from the airport to the bio-secure environment at the team hotel where all members of the touring party underwent a Covid-19 test.

The Jamaican coach says they are now awaiting the results of those test, however, the first stage of the tour has already gotten off to a smooth start.

"Everything has been well laid out and well thought out. We had a quick briefing around the protocols and so on and we had our first COVID test and we are awaiting the results. We will start our recovery today but the players are in good spirits and everybody is fine and we are looking to get on the park", said Coley.

Uncapped player

The Jamaicans in the Windies women's squad are captain Stafanie Taylor, Chedean Nation, Chinelle Henry and Natasha McLean.

Kaysia Schultz is the only uncapped player in the squad which includes 14 players in the touring party who were a part of the West Indies Women's squad that participated at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia, earlier this year.

Veteran off-spinner Anisa Mohammed declined the invitation to tour.
