Reggae Boy Curtis Tilt endured a frustrating afternoon as he was controversially sent off after scoring early as 10-man Wigan Athletic wilted against already-relegated Swindon Town, with Barbados attacking midfielder Hallam Hope leading the Wiltshire outfit to a thrilling 4-3 final-day comeback victory in England's League One yesterday.

Tilt, a 29-year-old centre back who made his debut for Jamaica in a 4-1 defeat against the United States in a friendly in March, put Wigan ahead on 17 minutes with a superb header from a Dan Gardner corner.

Then, with Wigan 3-1 up and in total control, the game turned on its head on 66 minutes when Tilt was sent off by referee Graham Salisbury following a tangle with Tyler Smith as the pair chased a long goal kick 30 yards from goal.

Hope, 27, who had replaced Jamaican Jordon Garrick on 23 minutes because of injury, pulled it back to 3-2 on 77 minutes with his fifth goal of the campaign before Smith equalised in the last minute.

Scott Twine then popped up with a brilliant free-kick winner three minutes into added time to add to his 59th-minute goal.

Earlier, Will Keane's brace had put the home side on top.

In the end, Wigan finished one place above the relegation zone. For Swindon, who now drop back to League Two, it was a sparkling end to a dismal season.
