Poor finishing and tough aggressive play dominated yesterday's Jamaica Premier League encounter between Vere United and Molynes United as the teams played out a 0-0 at the UWI Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence. In the second match of the double-header, Waterhouse and Harbour View drew 1-1.

Bernard said Chong likes to score free kicks because has been practising them a lot in training and therefore he is not surprised that he was able to put away this one quite comfortably.

Frustration

"This is somebody that we would have converted to become a forward. It is a decision that I took based on frustration from the other players who have played in the position," said Bernard.

Assistant coach of Waterhouse, Daniel Bennett, said poor finishing from his team cost them all three points in the game.

"It is a fair result but I think that if we were a little more clinical in front of goal in the final third especially in the second half, then we would have all three points," said Bennett.

Meanwhile, Molynes United dominated the opening match but they failed to convert any of their chances due to poor finishing.

Calvert Fitzgerald, head coach of Moylnes United, said his team should have earned all three points if they were a lot more precise in front of goal.

"I think we should have won this game quite easily," said Fitzgerald. "However, it is one point and so we give thanks for it and this is something that we can build on going forward," he said.

Donovan Duckie, the head coach at Vere, said he was happy with his team's efforts.

"We are very happy and I am pleased with a point," said Duckie. "It is a new project for Vere and so I am very surprised at how the youths have handled themselves. They have adapted very well." Yesterday's resultsVere 0, Molynes 0Waterhouse 1, Harbour View 1
