Looks like another easy day for Reggae 6 players
LAST Wednesday's payout, $8,296, one of the lowest-ever Reggae 6 mandatory dividend to date, was a telling reminder of not to carry outsiders for the heck of it, a costly misadventure for many, especially with a mandatory payout dangling as carrot.
HEIR OF FIRE opened the Reggae 6 at odds of 5-2, followed by winning favourites in the remaining five races, proving form players spot-on in a pool that started at $14.2m and reached $31.7m.
This Saturday's Reggae 6 could be similarly easy with the opener being between two runners, LAST DANCE and DRONE STRIKE, whichever reports fittest, after a close three-way finish involving return-winner MUSKETOON when they last met.
Imported RICORICORICO and THE GENERAL should be banked in the next two races. However, take no chances with three-year-old maidens in the fourth at six furlongs. Debutants, I'M OUTSTANDING and DON KWESI both appear useful at exercise, making them automatic selections alongside BRAHMA BULL, who already has one run under his girth, a second-place finish behind stablemate EASY MONEY.
The fifth also requires at least three selections, down-in-class STORM, WILSON and SENSATIONAL GOLD, the latter two having won on their last outings.
The sixth will require more work, at least four selections to include PRINCESS AKILAH, SKYRIZI, PRINCESS IFIYAH and POWEROFHERHIGHNESS in a knotty affair for older non-winners of three races at six and a half furlongs.
