Adele quit smoking because she feared she would die.

The Hello hitmaker, who made her triumphant return to music this year, admits she gave up her vice over worries she would develop lung cancer. She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "If I'd carried on smoking I'd probably have died from a smoking-related illness, and I think that's really bad. If I was dying from lung cancer I would have potentially given it to myself and that wouldn't be something I'd be proud of."

The 27-year-old singer, who had been smoking 25 cigarettes a day before she quit, has been on a health kick as of late and recently revealed her key to losing weight - cutting out the sugars in her tea. She said: "I used to drink 10 cups a day with two sugars in each, so I was on 20 sugars a day. Now I don't drink it and I have more energy than ever."

And whilst she likes to keep healthy, she doesn't "enjoy" heading to the gym. She shared: "I'm not, like, skipping to the gym. I don't enjoy it. I do like doing weights. I don't like looking in the mirror."

Miley Cyrus uses Christmas as an 'excuse to eat'. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker is looking forward to heading home for the festive break and is ready to enjoy her favourite Christmas food.

She said: "I'm going to go home and just chill with my family. We just use it as an excuse to eat.

"When you're a kid the presents are so exciting, but as you get older its feels kind of odd that they're giving me presents, so then it's just an eating excuse." Meanwhile, the 23-year-old star recently starred in Bill Murray's Netflix television special 'A Very Murray Christmas' and insists she had no hesitation in signing up. She told MTV News: "Someone rang me up and said Bill Murray wants you to show up and sing some Christmas song with George Clooney. "And I was like, 'OK, yeah, I'll be there.' And it was just so cool to kind of like bring my own style, it's so fantasy and fun. Honestly, I just wanted to be with Bill Murray."

Will Smith says counselling has helped his marriage work. The Focus star - who has children, Jaden, 17 and Willow, 15, with wife Jada Pinkett Smith - has admitted the couple have gone for separate therapy sessions but insists it makes them stronger. He told Access Hollywood: "Everything that you do that's great is gonna be difficult and the most difficult part about a relationship is that it's really not between two people ... it's between you and you. What Jada and I have learned is bettering ourselves individually is how you make a relationship work. Individual counselling ... You get yourself together and present yourself to your partner in a higher spiritual and emotional state, and you'll be surprised how much better things can go." Meanwhile, the 47-year-old actor previously admitted his marriage has been "excruciating" at times. He shared: "We've been married 20 years and we've been asking ourselves [what's the secret to marriage] and really at the end of the day it's just not quitting. You can't expect it to be easy... And you know we're just not quitters."

Rihanna held a 'private concert' at a karaoke bar for her friends and family. The We Found Love hitmaker enjoyed a night out with her mother, manager, friends and relatives at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, where she couldn't resist stepping behind the microphone to give the guests a little show.

A source told E! News: "Rihanna arrived at 9 p.m. with her mom. She didn't rent out the restaurant, but had a private, room with about 20 people, including her manager, niece, and best friend. There weren't any other famous faces recognised. "They set up karaoke in the private room and many of her friends sang, but Rihanna dominated. Anyone in the area would have thought they were getting a private concert. It was like a private concert. The waiters were seen refreshing wine all night. They left at 3 a.m." Meanwhile, when she's not out partying, the 27-year-old beauty is busy working on her hotly anticipated new album Anti. Collaborator Sia recently revealed: "The other night she came over and listened to half of 25 songs I played her because she's still looking for songs for her new album."
