Nicki Minaj to be slapped with lawsuit by ex-boyfriend Safaree
Onika Tanya Maraj, 32, professionally known as Nicki Minaj is to be slapped with a lawsuit by her ex-boyfriend, according to US media reports.
Rapper Safaree Samuels reportedly wants a cut from 3 of Minaj's hugely successful albums — The Pink Print, Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
According to US celebrity news website TMZ, Safaree 34, plans to present strong evidence along with the lawsuit to prove that he has been hugely involved with the production of many of Minaj's hits including "Only" featuring Chris Brown, Drake and Lil Wayne, "Flawless (Remix)" with Beyoncé and "Feeling Myself" also with Beyoncé.
Safaree's evidence reportedly includes "videos of him working with Nicki, voice memos from recording sessions, hours of footage from studio sessions. He says he also has multiple witnesses to validate his contribution," TMZ reports.
He also says his claims can be further concretised the fact that he was given executive producer credit on Minaj's first 2 albums.
In June this year, Safaree dropped a new song Lifeline, which 'dissed' Minaj and her current boyfriend Meek Mill.
In Lifeline, he also claimed that he was a ghost writer on some of Minaj's songs.
Minaj has not yet responded to Safaree's claims.
