Yush organisers expect sold out show
Co-CEO of Yush, Philip Palmer is anticipating that the latest staging, the Mega Edition, which is scheduled for this Saturday, November 26, will bring a full house.
"We are very confident about it; ticket sales have been going well since day one of launching. Ticket sales are very promising, and we expect to be sold out in time for the show. Ja Rule and Ashanti (the headline performers) are excited and ready to be back in Jamaica," Palmer explained.
Though the booked performers are no strangers to Jamaican soil, performances from international musicians have been noticeably missing for the past two years. However, with the return of classic, well-loved events like Yush, the energy among partygoers is fete-like and live performances are welcomed. Determined to deliver mega vibes, Palmer explained the rationale behind the event's headliners.
"It was easy to pick these acts to headline the event, Yush is known for music from the late 90s and early 2000s, and Ja Rule and Ashanti were hot in that era. They had the biggest hits in that time period," Palmer shared.
Resident sponsor Wray Rum is on board for the inaugural Mega staging of the popular party series.
"Wray Rum is no stranger to supporting high-quality entertainment events like Yush. In fact, the brand has been a proud sponsor of the Yush retro party series for over five years. Our continued sponsorship is part of our commitment to sustain 'Fi Wi Culture'," said Pavel Smith, marketing manager, J Wray & Nephew Ltd.
"We are happy to extend our support of music platforms and the elevation of Jamaica's entertainment products. We are proud to join forces with the Yush team to provide Jamaican partygoers with a special edition experience as we approach the close of a milestone year for the country," Smith added.
The Mega Yush will start at 9 p.m. at Sabina Park in Kingston. Hosted by Bambino, patrons will enjoy music by multi-genre DJs Richie Feelings, Coppershot and Kurt Riley.
