Cardi B cancels BZR WKND Jamaica performance
American rapper Cardi B has pulled out of her highly anticipated performance at BZR WKND Jamaica, just 10 days before she was scheduled to headline the festival at the National Stadium in Kingston.
Cardi’s representatives confirmed the cancellation to Billboard yesterday, saying the “AH HA” rapper will no longer perform at the October 18 event.
“Cardi B will not be performing at BZR WKND Jamaica on October 18, 2026,” her representatives told Billboard.
The rapper’s team said Cardi appreciates the support from her Jamaican fans and hopes to see them in the future.
“For information regarding the status of BZR WKND Jamaica, ticketing, or other event-related matters, please contact the event organisers directly,” the statement added.
The announcement comes as questions now surround the status of the four-day BZR WKND Jamaica, which was expected to bring together music, culture, food, tourism, fashion and entertainment.
Billboard reported yesterday that event organisers had not responded to requests for comment regarding Cardi’s cancellation.
Cardi was scheduled to headline the October 18 show at the National Stadium, following a hugely successful year that included her “Little Miss Drama” tour.
Her Jamaica appearance would have marked another major international booking for the festival, which had already announced a strong line-up of Jamaican and international acts.
Grammy-nominated dancehall star Spice was previously announced as the host, while R&B singer Keyshia Cole and dancehall acts including Malie Donn, Ding Dong, Stalk Ashley and Shaneil Muir are among the performers announced.
The cancellation is a major blow to the festival’s October 18 headline show, with Cardi having been promoted as its biggest international attraction.
The rapper’s representatives did not give a reason for her withdrawal.
They also stressed that information about Cardi’s future performances will be communicated through her official channels.
Cardi’s planned Jamaican performance had generated significant buzz, particularly following her successful return to the live stage with the “Little Miss Drama” tour earlier this year.
Now, with the October 18 date fast approaching, attention is likely to turn to whether BZR WKND will proceed as planned and what arrangements will be made for ticket holders following the headliner’s withdrawal.
