Shifta samples steamy R&B classic

Recording artiste Shifta recently released the first single off his upcoming album, a track titled Sex You Up.

The track samples Color Me Badd's single I Wanna Sex You Up,

Shifta said that he has always been a big fan of R&B music and is inspired by artistes such as Babyface, Boyz 2 Men, and Luther Vandross.

"This single is a sample of one of my favourite R&B throwbacks. The female voice on this track is Che'nelle, who worked on another single called Do You Wanna with me. That song went number one on the iTunes reggae charts back in 2015 and our collective EP You and I in that same year debuted on the Billboard Charts. It was a no-brainer to get her on this track," said Shifta.

Sex You Up is one of the seven tracks that will be featured on Shifta's debut album.

"The album is yet to be named but will be released in the month of love, February 2023. Before its release, I will be dropping Body Dey with Konshens. The songs on this album cater to all fans, but I know the ladies will be treated extra special," added Shifta.

The Miami-based dancehall artiste hails from Barbican in St Andrew. He is known for singles such as It's Going Down Tonight featuring international recording artiste Pleasure P. He has received support for his music on MTV and several major local platforms in Jamaica.

Shifta is set to visit Jamaica in January to begin promotions for his album.
